TUSKEGEE, Ala. | After dropping the first set to the visiting Hawks from Huntingdon College, the Tuskegee University Tigerettes volleyball team stormed back to win the final three to claim a 3-1 (20-25,25-22,25-23,25-18) victory at Chappie James Arena on Monday night.

Pamela Allen paced four Tuskegee (15-11) players in double figures in kills with 19 on 27 attempts, finishing with a career-high hitting percentage of .630. She was joined in double figures by Jamiah Breda-Nixon (16-42-.283), Donovan Wingfield (10-18-.444) and Jacqueline Wilson(10-19-.421). Morgan Scrivens posted a career-high 50 assists, while also recording nine digs.

Defensively for Tuskegee, Zahria Radford led the way with a match-high 18 digs, while Naliah Pruitt added seven in the victory. The team finished with 10 blocks, with Allen leading the way with six solo blocks.

Meanwhile for Huntingdown (12-19), Audrianna Hargitt paced three players in double figures with 15 kills, while Bria Rochelle added 11 and Kalen Morgan 10 in the loss. Cora Murchison posted 43 assists and four kills, to go along with five digs for the Hawks.

Rochelle finished the night with a double-double, as she added 18 digs; while Lauren Condon led the way with 18 digs.

After dropping the first set, Tuskegee found themselves down early in the second set (6-5) before taking their biggest lead of the set at 17-9 on a kill from Breda-Nixon. The lead would stay at three for most of the set, until Huntingdon trimmed the lead to 22-20. That was short-lived as Tuskegee scored scored on a kill from Nixon to push the lead to 24-22, before winning the set on another Breda-Nixon kill to win 25-22.

The third set was tight from start to finish with the teams trading the lead until a kill from Allen put the Tigerettes up 23-22, followed by a Wilson kill to put Tuskegee up 24-22 before a service error by Huntingdon ended the set.

In the fourth and final set, Huntingdon took the lead midway through at 11-9 before Tuskegee was able to take a 12-11 lead off of a kill from Allen and would never give the lead back. The lead was extended to five on a couple of occasions, forcing a Huntingdon timeout. After the timeout, Allen put the match away on an assist by Scrivens to end the fourth set 25-18.

Tuskegee will now take some much-needed time off, returning to court to face Miles at home on November 9.
